Aussie supercar builder Joss Developments Limited revealed new renderings of their tentatively-named JP1 supercar, painted red, to audiences in Melbourne. Introduced alongside the matte black JP1 prototype, company reps made the surprise announcement that the car will be capable of hitting 360 km/h (224 mph). That's a full 20 km/h (12 mph) faster than previously reported.
Other than that, the car was mostly as expected when it was shown off at the Australian International Motor Show in Melbourne today. The company said they will build 25 production units when it eventually comes to market.
The JP1 makes use of a 500-horsepower (373 kW / 507 PS) aluminum V8 with a 6.6-liter displacement hooked up to a Albins Zeroshift Automated Manual Transmission (AMT). This gives the car a sub-3.0 second 0-100 km/h (62 mph) time and a 0-160 km/h (0-100 mph) time of just 6.0 seconds.
Pricing for the vehicle had previously been set at AU$500,000 ($526,000 / €369,000).

Rolls-Royce has pulled the covers off the new facelifted Phantom range that includes the Saloon, Drophead Coupe and Coupe body styles. It is labeled as the Phantom Series II and features a few cosmetic updates to distinguish itself from the Phantom that was initially launched in 2003.
The front end has taken a trip to the stylists and features redesigned bumpers and a new set of full LED headlights. The latter of these changes also incorporates electronically-controlled reflectors that focus the beam of the lights in the direction of travel.
Inside the cabin, the dashboard gets a larger 8.8-inch control center that has been enhanced with 3D maps with landscape topography, guided tours and enhanced points of interest. It also displays the front, rear and top-view camera views to help when parking.
A brand new 8-speed automatic gearbox and rear differential now works with the 6.75 liter V12 engine that has improved fuel consumption by 10 percent as well as knock down emissions from 388g/km to 347g/km.

Martin Scorsese has announced he will produce Silver Ghost, a film that chronicles the lives of the names behind the formation of Rolls-Royce.
The producer/director was behind films such as The Departed, Goodfellas and Taxi Driver and he will now lend his expertise alongside Lord Richard Attenborough and Anthony Haas.
It focuses on the lives of Charles Rolls and Henry Royce who founded the world famous brand in 1906 as well as Lord John Douglas-Scott Montagu, a British MP that campaigned on behalf of motorists.
The script has been penned by Kiera Knightley's mum, Sharman Macdonald and Christian Bale is rumored to be in line to take a starring role in the film as Lord Montagu.
According to IMBD, Silver Ghost is due to be released during 2013.

The New York Auto Show continues as Acura has taken the wraps off the RLX concept.
Designed to preview the production model that will be launched early next year, the concept has an angular grille, LED headlights and 20-inch alloy wheels. Overall, the sedan is about the same size as the RL but has a two-inch longer wheelbase and a two-inch shorter front overhang.
The cabin is slated to feature "state-of-the-art communications, navigation and infotainment technologies." Notable highlights include dual LCD screens (an 8-inch display and a 7-inch touch screen), a next-generation AcuraLink communications system and a premium audio system with Bluetooth/USB connectivity.
Power comes from a Sport Hybrid Super Handling All-Wheel Drive System (SH-AWD) which consists of a 3.5-liter V6 engine, three electric motors and a seven-speed dual-clutch transmission. Boasting a combined output in excess of 370 hp (276 kW / 375 PS), the RLX has an EPA-estimated fuel economy rating of 30 mpg city / 30 mpg highway / 30 mpg combined.
If that sounds like overkill, an entry-level model will also be available with front-wheel-drive and a 310 hp (231 kW / 314 PS) engine. While it lacks the sure-footedness of all-wheel drive, the car will be equipped with a Precision All-Wheel Steer system which "provides for independent control of the steering (toe) angle of the right and left rear wheels by utilizing electrically controlled actuators."
